One of my specialties as a witch has always been curse breaking and spell reversal. Spell reversal is used to reflect spells, hexes and curses that are placed on you back onto their original caster.
This method can be far simpler than trying to break a spell! Working with the momentum of the magic takes far less energy than trying to stop that momentum altogether.
Hopefully you don’t have too many occasions to use this skill but should you ever suspect that another witch is tampering with your life it’s always best to know how to remedy the situation.
Quick Tip: In a pinch, burning bay leaves is a very quick way to reverse curses!
Reflecting A Spell
You will need:
- A Small Mirror
- A Black or White Candle
- Black pepper
- Oregano
- Anointing oil (cooking oil works just fine)
Begin by anointing your candle and rolling it in the pepper and oregano. Place the candle in a holder on top of the mirror. Light the candle and as you do so say the following incantation:
“Return to your maker,
and leave me in peace.
Should the way be barred,
Your power will cease.”
This incantation ensures that even if the caster has protected against spell rebound the curse will still be broken. Allow the candle to burn itself out and dispose of the remains outside of your home.
Cleanse yourself and your home immediately.

Does oregano oil work too
I do not suggest using oregano oil for this spell. Dried oregano works best.
Hi! I’m wanting to do this reversal during a full moon but when you say dispose of the remains does that mean the mirror and the candle holder also or just the candle remains?
What happens if you reverse the spell and the original spell caster also reverses it back to you?
I did it for my aunt and it worked!
Thank you very much.
My altar top is a mirrored surface, so now I’m worried I’ve sent the wrong message into the universe. I’ve never done any hexes or curses, only to uplift, heal, etc., and I don’t use the mirror as part of my intentions. After reading this, I’ll change my altar. Although the mirrored top is really pretty.
Hello! I was wondering if there would be any bad karma involved, or if the spell would still work, if I don’t know who I’ve been cursed by? My mother and I are certain we’ve been cursed (and have been told it sounds like an old, familial curse) but there’s no way for us to tell who was responsible. Would the reflections be less effective if we don’t know who we’e reflecting on?
